Sometimes our deepest thoughts
Cause the most confusion.
Our most sincere desires
Bewitch the brain
Soothe the heart
But both cause pain.

What do we want?
Why do we want it?
Answers form easily to these questions.
Answers that seem too easy
Often are.
Answers that can be verbalized too simply–
All brain, no heart.

We want those around us
Family
Friends
Those we know too well
Those we barely know at all
We want them all happy.

We prefer to see smiles
Grins
Pleasure
Ecstasy
Elation
So much so that anything less
Doth depress.

How do we balance
Our desire for others happiness
Our own deepest thoughts?
How do we allow for room
To breathe?

Find your room.
Find your breath.
Find yourself.
